DEK 1888 - 1912
Unknown "Leaf" DEK - c1903
These etched (aka ACB) Silberiris "Leaf" DEK's are technically "unknown", meaning that we have not been able to document a name or assign a DEK number for them. However, we know they are Loetz and felt it would be beneficial to post them so that visitors could see the various etched Silberiris leaf designs that Loetz produced.
These Leaf DEK's are found in both green and yellow grounds with a silberiris finish. Various leaf (Chestnut, Oak, etc.) designs are then acid etched into the silberiris. Based on the shapes that we have found in this decor, we believe that they were first introduced around 1901-1903.
Note: In "Loetz/ Series II, Paper Patterns for Glass from 1900 to 1914" by Jitka Lnenickova, there are five productions listing vases made for G. von Moltzheim & Co., London, in "Crete Silberiris mit Foliage". While the paper patterns are missing, it is indeed possible that these are the executions that are referred to here.
